CelebnSports247.com reports that scams seem to be at an all-time high right now and get this, United Soccer League’s Abdul Osumanu just got busted for a “Romance Scam.”
Abdul Osumanu was the starting defender for the Union Omaha on USL League One, starting in the team’s first five matches until he was arrested on May 27th, 2021.
Osumanu is one of nine men accused in West Virginia of participating in separate romance and other online scams that defrauded at least 200 people of more than $2.5 million, prosecutors said earlier this week. – BeingSports.com
United Soccer League’s Abdul Osumanu has been indicted on 2 counts of mail fraud, money laundering, two counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and a charge for a receipt of stolen money, according to Awesemo.com
Osumanu who is the starting defender for Union Omaha, allegedly catfished two people out of $215,000. He was a group of 9 men that would catfish people under the guise of a romantic relationship so they can get the people to send them money. They allegedly were able to get over $2.5 million from around 200 people.
