What makes Daniel Poncedeleon’s debut even more special is his history.

The 26-year-old St. Louis Cardinals pitcher threw 116 pitches, walking three and striking out three in the game.

Poncedeleon pitched all seven innings before he was talking off the mound and replaced him with a pinch-hitter.

The Cards Louis lost the no-hitter in the bottom of the eighth when reliever Jordan Hicks allowed a single to Phillip Ervin.

That had to be a devastating blow to the whole team since Daniel Poncedeleon pitched a no-hitter. All that work is thrown away in the 8th. #SMH
