CelebnSports247.com reports that Rapoport adds the plan is for Adrian Peterson to eventually be added to the active roster as they look to replace Derrick Henry.
The Titans are replacing their all-world running back with an all-time great Adrian Peterson via Ian Rapoport.
The team is signing running back Adrian Peterson, according to multiple sources, with Derrick Henry out indefinitely due to a foot injury that will require surgery.
The 36-year-old hasn’t caught on with an NFL team this year after struggling in a stint with the Lions last year. Adrian Peterson ranks fifth all-time in career rushing yards and fourth in career rushing touchdowns as a four-time All-Pro player.
As for Derrick Henry, he will undergo surgery Tuesday morning on his injured right foot, and coach Mike Vrabel said the Tennessee Titans are not putting a timeline on when he will return.
Vrabel said:
Whenever that is, that’s when it’ll be. I know that he’ll be around our team as soon as he can. I know that’s important to him. I know that’ll be important to our team. We will have to move on. We’ll have to move on, unfortunately, without him here in the short term and not look back.
