CelebnSports247.com reports that Woods was reportedly running late to have a photoshoot with Brees and Herbert while the quarterbacks played golf, according to Bret Baier of Fox News.
According to Baier:
He was reportedly conscious and alert as he was pulled through the windshield of his damaged SUV.
The 15-time major-winner underwent fifth back surgery in December and now has to deal with having a shattered ankle and two leg fractures.
A Discovery Networks rep told Fox News that Woods was set to continue filming Tuesday before the crash as the golfer and the network have a long-term partnership.
Discovery Networks said in a statement:
Everyone at Discovery and GOLFTV wishes Tiger a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with him, his family, and his team at this time.
The 22-year-old Herbert turns some heads in his 1st season and collected the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He is coming off a record-breaking season throwing for 31 touchdowns (NFL rookie record) and five rushing touchdowns, which totaled 36 touchdowns on the season (NFL rookie record).
42-year-old New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees is still expected to retire this offseason.
Tiger Woods released a statement on Tuesday night thanking everyone for all the support.
