Will Michael Conforto Re-sign With The Mets or Join White Sox?
Michael Conforto remains one of the most notable names left on the free agent market, but will he return to the team?
Last season, the New York Mets offered Conforto a new contract in the $100 million range last spring, and the team would have gone as high as $120 million at that point…
CelebnSports247.com has learned now, a year later, the Mets are “not offering him anything like that now, and probably not anything,” according to SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino.
Martino reported last week that a reunion with the outfielder was “not on the radar” for the Mets, who have added outfielders Starling Marte and Mark Canha this offseason and are likely now looking to add a fourth outfielder/bench player to complement the pieces already in place, according to Yahoo Sports.
Meanwhile, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn has done a tremendous job of strengthening the ins and outs of the team this offseason.
Once again, Conforto would be the perfect fit for The White Sox.
Signing Conforto would allow them to kill two birds with one stone. The other plus for Conforto is that he has a fairly high ceiling. It is realistic that Chicago signs him to a discounted contract and he goes out and smashes 25-30 home runs while getting on base at a quality rate. – Clutch Point
So where will Conforto go?
Will it be back with The Mets or start fresh with the Chicago White Sox?
We will keep you posted…
