If you read between the lines, it appears that Gerrit Cole has subliminally signed off with the Astros and will not coming back to Houston in 2020.

His team just having suffered a stunning World Series Game 7 loss to end its season, Cole wasted no time taking off his Astros apparel and putting on a Scott Boras cap.
