The Seattle Mariners have suspended Cano for 80 games. The commission of the MLB BUSTED Cano for taking a diuretic. That doesn’t sound like steroids, or does it? Cano now joins the list of past All-Star players who used the same diuretic to disguise their use of steroids.

It’s been said that the use of the diuretic Furosemide, which can be used as a masking agent to conceal PED use.

Cano’s time on the disabled list will count toward his suspension, but he will lose about half his $24 million annual salaries and be ineligible for the All-Star Game and the postseason, according to ESPN.

Still, in disbelieve at the reports, the Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera said he knows the Mariners star well and that Cano would never take a banned drug.

Cabrera told the Detroit Free Press [via SportingNews]:

I know Canó for a lot of years and I know he didn’t cheat. I’m f—ing mad right now.

Miguel points out it came from his doctor:

His doctor prescribed the medication. I think he got all the paperwork. Why he get positive? I don’t understand that. If it’s something for him to get better.
