Dr. Dre Speaks on NFL Edits + Eminem Kneeling; NFL Responds!

CelebnSports247.com and CelebnMusic247.com report that the National Football League is now stating it was “aware” that rapper Eminem was going to kneel during the Super Bowl LVI halftime performance.
Eminem joined Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar to perform for the much-anticipated halftime show. and before you say the NFL was unaware of Em kneeling think again, they were, it was already planned and approved.
They also responded to the notion that they informed him not to do so ahead of time.
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said:
That report was erroneous. We watched all elements of the show during multiple rehearsals this week and were aware that Eminem was going to do that.
When Eminem’s turn onstage came, he performed a couple of his hits and eventually took a knee while performing “Lose Yourself.”
Em remained on his knee while Dre sat in front of a piano and played Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad at Cha.”
As for the moment where Eminem took a knee, he made it clear that it Eminem doing that himself. After Eminem took a knee during his rendition of “Lose Yourself,” there was speculation the NFL had not allowed the move. But Dre clarified, “Em taking a knee, that was Em doing that on his own and there was no problem with that.”
Dre said:
There were a few things that we had to have changed, but they were really minor things. (Eminem) taking a knee – that was Em doing that on his own – and there was no problem with that… All in all, we came in and everyone was professional. Everybody really felt the magnitude of what this thing was and what we were going to be able to accomplish.
Dre also mentioned that Lamar had to remove a line regarding gangs, but said no one thought it was a big deal.
Dr. Dre told TMZ:
All in all, everybody came in we were professional, everybody was on time, everybody really felt the magnitude of what that thing was and what we were going to be able to accomplish…I t was a fantastic experience.
Em’s Tribute to Colin Kaepernick’s protests:
Eminem taking a knee appeared to be an apparent tribute to Colin Kaepernick’s protests. The act of kneeling became controversial in 2016 after Kaepernick began using it as a form of protest against police brutality and racial injustice.
The quarterback eventually opted out of his contract with the 49ers, but never joined another NFL team.
