CelebNSports247.com has just got word that the Eagles announced the news on Monday, that defensive lineman Fletcher Cox has signed a 6-year contract extension after a few months of negotiations.

The veteran lineman and his agent and his agent agreed to sign 6-year contract extension with the team worth $103 million with a $63 million guarantee.

Cox’s contract extension with the Eagles gives him the highest guarantee ever for a non-quarterback in NFL history. Along with his hefty contract, Cox will also get a $26 million signing bonus.

Cox, who was drafted in the first round by the Eagles in 2012, has been with the team for the past four seasons. He has proved to be one of the biggest playmakers for the Eagles, leading the defense last year in tackles for loss or no gain. Cox had previously said that he wanted to stay in Philadelphia for the long term and now, his contract extension will keep him there through the 2022 season.

With Cox landing a sweet deal, it looks like Broncos linebacker Von Miller, who is currently going through his own contract negotiations will be using Fletcher as an example in order to try and get his own value up.
