Jake Paul Calls Out UFC Fighters; Dana White FIRES BACK!
Fresh out of his second boxing match against another UFC fighter, Jake Paul KO’d former UFC fighter and Welterweight Champ Ben Askren in the first round.
Now, Paul has gone back to calling out different UFC fighters for a battle, and Dana White has a huge problem with it. See why Dana White FIRED BACK at Jake Paul …
CelebnSports247.com reports that the form YouTuber turned boxer’s first-round KO win over former UFC fighter Ben Askren in a boxing bout on Saturday, Paul took aim at Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier.
UFC president Dana White asked why Jake Paul wasn’t fighting genuine pro boxers and even went as far to threaten legal action if keeps calling out his fighters who are under contract.
White told Yahoo Sports reporter Kevin Iole:
Why don’t you go fight a fucking boxer? What the fuck do these guys keep talking to UFC guys for? I’m gonna have to slap them with another fucking legal letter, these fucking idiots. Go talk to f***ing boxers. What are you doing?
McGregor is scheduled to have his third fight with Dustin Poirier as the headline of UFC 264 in July. And UFC fighter Cormier has already shut Paul down for any type of future fight.
Basically, White is not a fan of YouTubers and social media stars entering the combat sports world. However, Dana White did praise Paul and the Triller Fight Club team for finding a market in what they’re doing.
Why Dana White is NOT a Fan:
What White means is that Triller, who Mike Tyson severed ties with for cheating him out of money, has gone to YouTuber Jake Paul. Why? He is cheaper and using a gimmick pays big money. What they are doing is building a fanbase trying to get Paul a real fight with a real professional boxer, but since none of them want to fight him. Triller will continue to go after fighters who are NBA players turned boxers and UFC fighters. Those are easy wins for Paul because the fighting techniques are not the same nor do they have the skill set. Paul happens to be a power puncher, so these fights are easy wins.
White told Yahoo Sports pointed out:
It’s not my thing but that doesn’t mean it’s not other people’s things. When you look at this whole Jake Paul thing that’s going on right now, boxing continues to go like this [motions downwards]. This is the right guy with the right shtick at the right time.
He added:
This guy is playing this thing perfectly, and boxing is in such a bad place, they’re doing a really good job at sucking in people to buy into this thing. And good for him.
Paul now boasts a professional boxing record of 3-0.
The real test will be when he fights a real professional boxer. Until then, Jake Paul is Trillers gimmick boy.
