Jake Paul Knocks Out Welterweight Champ Ben Askren in First Round!

Boxing was back in a big way on Saturday night from Atlanta. And Jake Paul is making a name for himself in the boxing world.

CelebnSports247.com reports that YouTube star turned pro boxer Jake Paul made his much-anticipated return to the ring to take on former UFC fighter and multiple promotion welterweight champ Ben Askren.

The fight was short since Jake Paul knocked out welterweight champ Ben Askren atop a four-fight PPV card promoted by Triller Fight Club.

Last November Paul was still riding the wave from his insanely viral knockout of former NBA player Nate Robinson. Now he adds Ben Askren to his list of KOs. The Paul vs Robinson knockout has become an NFT, so we bet Askren will also become an NFT soon.

In Askren’s defense, he had never boxed professionally and was never known as a standup striker during his MMA career.

So Jake Paul wasted no time knocking Askren out in the first round.

For months Jake Paul has been trying to get the attention of champion fighters to take them on but so far he has settled for former UFC fighters.

Mayweather said it best, “Paul has never fought a REAL pro boxer.”

He is building his name, but what does this mean? Is he fast and quick enough to be like Mike Tyson? Some are already comparing him to Iron Mike.

Thoughts?
