CelebnSports247.com reports that after the 5th-straight offseason speculation about Colin Kaepernick returning to the NFL is the talk.
Since Russell Wilson is unhappy with his team, The Seatle Seahawks, it appears the team is looking at Colin Kaepernick as his replacement. Just think 2-years ago Russ gifted his team watches.
The only thing is Russell Wilson hasn’t demanded a trade from the franchise, especially since they did a record deal with him not too long ago. he’s just been complaining.
Meanwhile, that did not stop his agent from laying out four possible destinations he would like to go to if a trade were to happen.
The Chicago Bears were on that list and have been mentioned the most.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said on SportsCenter said:
I expect the Chicago Bears to at least take their shot here because a source told me Russell Wilson likes that they have an emerging offensive line, a good offensive-mind in Matt Nagy, and an intriguing market in Chicago.
Should Wilson find his way off the team, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio mentioned Colin Kaepernick as an option to replace him.
Florio said:
There’s something else the Seahawks could do, if they trade Wilson. They could finally give Colin Kaepernick (who is only one year older than Wilson) a full and fair workout, undeterred by the possibility that Kaepernick would divide the locker room on the question of whether he or Wilson should play. (In 2017, given the lingering presence of veterans who resented Wilson, that was a very real possibility.)
If you recall in 2017, the Seahawks passed on signing quarterback Colin Kaepernick due to financial reasons.
It looks like they may reconsider.
Fox Sports’ Andre Vergara, said:
He’s a starter in this league. We have a starter, but he is a starter in this league and I can’t imagine somebody won’t give him a chance to play.
Kaep, 33, has not played in the NFL since 2016.
