CelebNSports247.com reports that The right-hander was NOT, however, injured, according to New York Yankees manager Boone.

The Bleacher Report had this update:

Boone said German was a passenger in the car and sitting in the back seat behind the driver in the crash, which took place Thursday. He was evaluated at the Yankees’ Dominican Republic complex afterward.

German is not with the team at its training camp in Tampa Bay, Florida as a result of an 81-game suspension for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy.

The Yanks head man told reporters at NY’s spring camp:

Germán is fine. He was in the car, in the back seat on the driver’s side. He’s been to the complex in the D.R., he’s been checked over, and he’s fine.

As for his suspension?

The suspension didn’t directly mandate that German sit spring training out, but the Yankees asked German to work in the Dominican Republic instead.

The STUD for the Yanks in 2019 before his ban, going 18-4 with a 4.03 ERA has been training in the DR away from his Yanks teammates in Florida, because he’s still in the middle of an 81-game suspension he was hit with for violating the MLB’s domestic violence policy last year.

It’s unclear if others were injured in the accident. The Yankees officials have still not released a formal statement on the matter.

Germán eligible to return to the team’s roster in June.
