Knicks Nerlens Noel New Contract Officially Announced!
Nerlens Noel is very happy with the New York Knicks and made it clear he was staying with his team.
CelebnSports247.com reports that the Knicks officially announced Nerlens Noel’s new deal on Wednesday afternoon.
While the team did not disclose the terms, we got word via NBA Insider Ian Begley has reported the deal is for three-years, worth around $30 million.
Our sources also tell Begley that one of the bonuses on Noel’s contract is for $750,000 if he makes First or Second Team All-Defense.
Noel proved to be a tremendous fit with Tom Thibodeau during his first season in New York in 2020-21. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 5.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.20 blocks (third most in NBA) and 1.09 steals over 24.2 minutes in 64 games (41 starts) last season.
The Kentucky product was also the only player in the NBA to average at least two blocks and one steal.
With Mitchell Robinson playing just 31 games last season due to hand and foot injuries, Noel stepped in and stepped up, and now he figures to be in the fold for the next three years.
Nerlen posted this a few days back hinting that he was resigning with the Knicks:

In additional news, Nerlens noted that he can’t wait to mentor new Knicks ballers.
